About these terms
These terms apply to your use of mtdsubmission.co.uk (“the site”), which is run by Methodis Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16830157), whose registered office is at Suite A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What the site is
MTD Submission is a free, independent guide to Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. It provides general information, tools such as the MTD checker, and downloadable resources such as the setup checklist.
The site isn’t run by, affiliated with or endorsed by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), GOV.UK or the UK Government. We don’t submit quarterly updates, returns or any other information to HMRC, we don’t provide filing software, and we never access your HMRC account.
Information, not advice
Everything on the site is general information. It isn’t tax, financial, legal or accounting advice, and it doesn’t take your circumstances into account. Please read our disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Accuracy
We work to keep the site accurate and up to date, but tax rules, thresholds and deadlines change. The site is provided “as is”, and we don’t promise that it’s complete, accurate or current at any given time. Always check GOV.UK or a qualified adviser before you act.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own personal or business information. You must not:
use the site in any way that breaks the law
copy or republish substantial parts of the site’s content without our written permission
scrape, data-mine or systematically extract content
try to interfere with the site, its security or its hosting
Intellectual property
The content, design and tools on the site belong to Methodis Ltd or our licensors. You’re welcome to print or download pages and the checklist for your own use, and to share links to the site. Any other use needs our permission.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, including GOV.UK and software providers. We don’t control those sites, and a link isn’t an endorsement.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Subject to that, and because the site is provided free of charge, we’re not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. That includes tax, penalties, interest, professional fees, loss of profit or business, and indirect or consequential loss.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
